Josh Lida, Esq. attended the University of Central Florida where he received his B.A. in History with a certificate in Diplomacy in 2012. He then received his Juris Doctorate in 2015 from Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University, where he was active with the school’s radio program as well as a member of Moot Court. As a member of Moot Court in 2014, he competed in the New York City Bar Association Regional Competition.
Josh has acquired a broad range of experience in the practice of law, having started his practice in 2015 with experience assisting businesses with alcohol and local business licensing issues before joining a Personal Injury Protection defense firm. In 2017, he began his own practice with his father. While the practice was originally solely focused on criminal law, Josh expanded the scope to include intellectual property, defending administrative law actions, and business law.
In 2020, Josh was a founding partner of a boutique law firm, Twig, Trade, & Tribunal, PLLC, with two other attorneys where he was the director of Art and Business Law located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Joshua assisted businesses navigate deals and transactions through contract drafting, contract negotiation, due diligence, regulatory compliance, risk management, and intellectual property. He also managed the firm’s civil litigation department. Josh also focuses on assisting artists and galleries in the art world with various areas including contract negotiation, contract drafting, risk management, and intellectual property. As an artist himself, he has a strong understanding of the unique legal issues facing the art world.
Josh has also practices in the area of Web3, Non-Fungible Tokens, and blockchain where he regularly educates and consults with attorneys and or non-attorneys. Josh has presented on the topic of NFTs and blockchain with various organizations including the Broward County Bar Association, the Broward County Cultural Division, the American Bar Association’s Section of Intellectual Property Law, and Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of law.
Prior to joining Attorneys Jo Ann Hoffman and Associates, Josh was a Senior Associate at a complex commercial litigation defense firm.
Josh is also active in the local legal community where he is a board member of the Young Lawyer’s Section for the Broward County Bar Association. He regularly appears on the BCBA’s YouTube podcast discussing various emerging fields of the law including NFTs and artificial intelligence.
In his free time, he enjoys drawing, visiting museums, working out, and exploring the local beer and food scene which South Florida has to offer.
