Yemil Aragon’s career journey began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor degree in Photography from Florida International University. Mr. Aragon then decided to pursue a legal career and found no better place than the College of Law at his alma mater, returning to Florida International University, where Mr. Aragon obtained his Juris Doctor degree.
Mr. Aragon has always had a need to help those in need. During his time at the FIU College of Law, Mr. Aragon interned at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office twice and once at the Broward State Attorney’s Office. During these internships Mr. Aragon learned how the State prosecutes criminals who prey on those who are weaker, and that cemented Mr. Aragon’s drive to help those in need. Mr. Aragon was heavily involved with the Environmental Law Society, of which he was an integral part before graduation.
After graduating law school Mr. Aragon found his place helping homeowners fight insurance companies who wrongfully denied insurance claims for damages to their homes. Here, Mr. Aragon spent nearly eight years fighting for homeowners, from the inception of claims, through prelitigation, and all stages of litigation including trial. Mr. Aragon felt a deep sense of satisfaction helping these individuals who otherwise would have no chance against the Goliaths that the insurance companies are.
As an attorney at Attorneys Jo Ann Hoffman & Associates, Mr. Aragon specializes in the Defense Base Act, advocating ardently for the rights of injured workers. As an attorney with a multicultural background, Mr. Aragon was drawn to the Defense Base Act specialty to fight for injured workers in international employment, whether in the United States or abroad. Driven by his unwavering commitment to justice, Mr. Aragon channels his passion into his legal practice. His approach is rooted in his dedication to making a positive impact for each client and tirelessly fighting for the best possible outcome.
When not spending time tirelessly fighting for his clients, Mr. Aragon enjoys photography and computer programming, as well as spending time with his wife Mary and their two children, Ansel and Amelia.
